Most fuel efficient cars from ’08-’11?
I’m a high school senior and I will be purchasing a new car for graduation and I’m looking for something that will save me money. Of course my budget is limited, but I am interested in something fuel efficient. I was curious what cars were the best at fuel efficiency. It will be May-August 2012 before I buy it and I’m not looking to buying brand new. Somewhere from ’08-’11. What car choices are there? I considered a Honda Civic.

get a bicycle. a feul efficient car is one thats not running.good luck.
A VW/Audi TDI would be most fuel efficient, but not the most cost efficient because of the cost of maintenance and reliability.
Best car to get, 2012 Hyundai Elantra, 2012 Ford Focus, or Fiesta. Too bad they don’t sell the Fiesta diesel in the US.
I’d start with looking at the Toyota Yaris – it’s a very fuel efficient little car (up until the new Fiesta came out, it was best in its class), and it was available in 2008, which will help give you a greater range of selection, and will help make the cars available more affordable (since a car from 2008 will have taken a greater depreciation hit than one from this year). It’s not a great car, but it is great at simple transportation as it’s cheap to run in just about any metric possible.
Of course, if you’re looking for something a little nicer, the Fiesta and Civic are both great choices (I have a 2010 Civic, and it’s been very good to me).
