You must not read much from the Far left. They DO want higher prices. They’re always pointing out how little, compared to the rest of the world, we pay for gas. I find that people who think their Liberals aren’t really Liberals at all. They’re part of this Victim group that permeates throughout the U.S. with all these Big Oil, Big Tobacco, conspiracy theories. Corporations have a responsibility towards their investors. They will charge whatever the market will pay. And you really think if they rose prices to, let’s say, 6 dollars a gallon, the oil companies would see more profits? I think you’re wrong. I think the market is playing out here a little more than you think. What if they charged 20 dollars a gallon. They would see more profit? If they charged 100 dollars a gallon. What then?

I ride a bicycle rain or shine so I really do not care personally about the price of gas, but In theory it might work..but the cost of everything else would skyrocket too. And really what is the matter with gas conservation or getting rid of it all together?? global warming theory aside , right now the Arab oil producing countries have got us over the barrel, in more ways than one. it should be our quest to be fuel independent so we would not have to kill the sons & daughters of the poor and middle class for oil.
