Is there a way to make my car more fuel efficient?
Reducing weight of the vehicle by cleaning it out, keeping it tuned up with good spark plugs, clean gas (fuel and air filters etc) all the obvious stuff of maintaining a car, as well as keeping tire pressure up can save on fuel but is there anything else, not well known, that can increase fuel economy?

Yeah put it in neutral when going down hills, I used to do this all the time in my Toyota.
Umm… come to a rolling stop, meaning don’t gun it then slam on the brakes at a traffic light. Once you see a red light just take your foot off the gas and brake when you need to.
If you’re driving a standard, use your gears to slow you. If your going down hill, reduce your gear rather than use brakes. It uses the momentum of the motor to keep it going, so it uses less gas. Also, you’ll save a lot of money on brake pads.
If you’re in a big city, turn off the engine at stop lights. 5 seconds of idling is equivilent to starting up your engine.
