Is there a need to use premium fuel (silver) for my ford edge model 2009?
I am presently filling up my 2009 ford edge with silver premium fuel. Due to the rising cost of gasoline, am thinking of shifting to the regular gas saving about 20-25 cents per gallon. I misplaced my manual so I opted to ask here in Yahoo. Thanks!

Go with what the manual says. If you lost your manual, call the dealer and ask them. Do not put anything except what is specified by the manufacturer in it. I’ll gladly explain WHY it’s a bad idea if you want.
Your car only requires regular, per page 298 of you owners manual
Octane recommendations
Your vehicle is designed to use
“Regular” unleaded gasoline with a
pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87.
We do not recommend the use of
gasolines labeled as “Regular” in
high altitude areas that are sold with octane ratings less than 87.
Do not be concerned if your engine sometimes knocks lightly. However, if
it knocks heavily under most driving conditions while you are using fuel
with the recommended octane rating, see your authorized dealer to
prevent any engine damage.
