Is it worth saving? 1992 Plymouth Sundance leaking oil and gas ….?

5

My 100,000+ miles Sundance made a *clunk* sound and then dropped a puddle of oil and gas when I started it recently (it’s had a small oil leak for years) . Can this be fixed? Should it be fixed or is it time for it to go to the “farm”? Thanks!

Yeah it is time…..you will end up spending too much money if you try and fix it…..

Hell no! It would cost to much and more than likely you will have other things go wrong , just dump the money you would spend on fixing it and put it towards another car.

gasket sets are cheap and j.b weld is to its easy if you find where the oil is coming from and gas it happens to old cars and its repairable

If the cost to fix it is less than 1 fourth of the car’s value, fix it only if the fix was guaranteed to be long term. If you think it’s time to get a new car and are looking for a great compact, look into the Ford Focus or the Ford Fusion, or get a new Taurus for 11,000.

Yes, it can be fixed. Whether or not you fix it depends on a few things:
1) How much do you like the car?
2) Can you afford to fix it?
3) Remember that you will probably spend more in parts alone than what the car is worth
I’ve been in your situation with an ’85 Volvo. If you really really like the car, parting with it will not be easy. Whatever you decide…I wish you luck :)
