is it true that a turbo charger can save fuel?
i really dont know coz i saw this mechanic talking about a turbo charger on youtube and all of a sudden he said that we can save fuel if we are not using the turbo… of course i know that when we drive like Micheal Schumacher gone wild on the road then we’re gona empty the tank in a matter of hours… but what if we drive like normal all the time? lets just say that i set the turbo charger to work at 2000 RPM and higher… coz i dont drive more than 4000 RPM and its very stressful for the 1000cc engine of my car… so what do you think? if i hear some god news, i might install a turbocharger and save all the extra hard work. i just want a little more power from my boring car yet not using too much fuel…

Well, it won’t save gas, but it probably won’t use much more- assuming you don’t tromp on it much. A factory turbocharged engine can be smaller than a non-turbo one and still make the same power, so in that sense they save fuel, but that doesn’t apply to your situation. A turbo is a very good way to add power to a small engine, and make the car more fun to drive. Of course, you’ll then be tempted to drive it faster, and your mileage will go down the more you drive it hard…
My stock car gets about 30 mpg. Same model with turbo added gets 26-28, depending on how hard I drive it.
And I don’t know what you mean by saving all the extra hard work- putting on a turbo is quite a bit of work.
