Is it true if u use A/C in ur car it will use more gas?
I have always heard that but was never sure if it was true. Gas is so expensive I want to conserve as much as I can.

i have always heard this too.
i just roll the windows down and enjoy the breeze…
mythbusters did a segment on it and it turns out that it does not use more gas…that is unless you run the ac with the windows down. you might be able to find it on discovery.com/mythbusters
It depends on where you are driving, if you are in town it is better to just put your windows down, but when you are driving 45 or faster it is the same amount of gas either way, because you have to consider the pull the wind will have on the car with the windows down.
hey girl
yes this is a true statement. there is a system of pulleys on the one side of your engine and that runs things like your alternator to charge battery and power steering air condisioning etc. when you use your ac the centerfugal clutch in the airconditioning pump engages and the engine must work harder to turn that pully aswell. there for using more gasoline and getting lower fuel economy. hope this helped you under stand how it works
Yes it will.
