Is It True Gas Stations Are Adding Fillers To Their Gasoline?
I’ve heard that Wal-Mart adds water to its gasoline tank and others use alcohol to dilute the gas we put in our vehicles which saves them money, is this true? Is this legal? How does this affect our vehicles? How can we know if we’re getting undiluted gasoline?

No water is added. However, alcohol (ethanol) is added at many stations, or more likely, by suppliers. Many states require ethanol to be added.
The down sides are that you don’t see any difference in the price, and ethanol results in decreased fuel economy.
Ask the manager at your favorite station if they add ethanol. If they do, check around to see if you can find gas without ethanol. You should see increased fuel mileage in about two tanks.
Not true. Each state has a monitoring system/inspectors, and they are in charge of randomly testing stations fuel and volume of fuel being dispensed. A violation is a Federal crime and will result in fines you and I can’t imagine.
