Is it possible to make engine oil for a car or truck from only plant material?

1

im having a hard time finding details on the net because of advertisements that explain nothing im pretty sure synthetic oil still requires certain bi products of crude oil. i am asking this because even if we develope electric or hydrogen vehicles and mass produce them and build an infrostructure before oil prices are so high that the expence to take on such a task would make bill gates broke in a day. even if we did all that what alternatives for wheels and engines would we have worthy of moving faster the 10km an hour without burning or brakeing and train tracks is a rediculous idea might as well build rivers to boat around in. i mean even if we escape gasoline prices and dig geothermal holes super deep to produce geohydro electricity to power cars batteries but still require oil and wheels from crude eventually when a metal refillable cannister of oil costs $200 and to recharge ur battery costs five your still paying the same price to get around as we do now. the worst part is from what i can see its only going to get harder is there any brilliant person out there who sees anything different? i mean is star trek driving us to a toil of madness or is science going to save us?

Ignoring what you wrote because I’m not in the mood to read it all.

You can use vegetable oil as a lubricant for mechanical parts only problem is that it gunks way too quick. My guess would be that water is going to be the “best” alternative lubricant in an engine, but it would require metals that don’t rust all around. If an engine were TRULY all aluminum you could probably use water as engine oil in smaller displacement engines. Higher displacement would mean more heat and water probably wouldn’t work.

Otherwise you’re looking at using some “natural” sources for substances. The eskimos use whale oil; unfortunately (maybe fortunately is a better word) using animal parts in commercial applications is not cost effective.

Theoretically speaking of course.
