I’m driving an hour to get to work in an 03 Mustang and gas is kickin my butt. What should I do?
I love my car but I have to drive an hour to get to work and my Pony doesn’t get great gas mileage. I’m living away from home and money is tight. Are there any tips on saving gas? I’m not allowed to trade it and my rommate works in the city we’ll be living in…so carpooling is out. Any tips guys?

is there a bus? no well i guess your outta luck because either gas goes down your you just pay to drive
Slow down. No, seriously, have the car tuned up; maintain proper air inflation; keep your air cleaner clean. Drive with your windows closed (aerodynamics). Lastly, you can always try a gas additive from STP.
Drive slower. No more than 60 mph and your mpg will rise.
Do you have a service available to you such as Dial-A-Ride? We have here in CT/NY a service called Metroride. Check online and look for your local areas carpool/vanpool services. Hope this helps.
don’t use an additive, they don’t work. Drive slower and leave earlier to avaoid stop and go rush hour traffic. Gas isn’t going down any time soon honey so learn to cope.
I don’t see why carpooling is out just because your roommate works in the same city. But in any case, you can find transit services in your area or drive to a nearby park-and-ride and take bus or rail from there. I don’t know where you live, so I can’t help you find your speicifc routing, but it sounds like finding a way to use transit is your best bet. And hey, if you’re not driving, you can find more time to read or listen to your favorite music. A video iPod can especially help with longer commutes.
