If I could remove 100lbs of weight from a 737 plane how much fuel would it save on a 1 hour journey?
Doesnt have to be exact, just an average.

Probably not a whole lot. maybe a quarter gallon.
Wouldn’t be much on a large plane like that, and it depends on other factors too like the Altimeter setting for the day, and what altitude and airspeed, etc. But, if you remove 100 lbs. of weight, you could add 100 lbs. of fuel, and stlill have the same takeoff weight.
100 pounds less weight would not make an appreciable difference in the fuel burn. Removing 5,000 or 6,000 pounds would cause the airplane to burn a couple of hundred pounds less per hour.
Good choice, aviop hag has all the answers, at least the most prolific.
But this is kind of like asking, “If I take the coins out of my pockets, will I get better gas mileage in my Chevy Cavalier?”
Let’s be a little realistic here.
My experience has been that you save about twenty percent of the weight. We often tank extra fuel because we got it cheapest at home base so a short out and back it might make sense. But you have to be careful. 20% seems to work pretty good though. If the cost of that extra 20% is high at the destination, we tank. If not, the FBO makes some cash.
