I have a 2003 Jeep Grand cherokee… Would I save gas by turning O/D off or on?

3

I have the 4.0 inline 6. Would I save gas by turning over drive off all of the time? Or should I leave it on? I’m not too sure about that stuff. I just need to save gas! I take off slow, I try to not let the rpms get over 2000 when I take off. Any suggestions?

Always leave od on except when towing…….you will get better fuel milage as it turns less rpms in od……happy motoring…

No, you will get worse mileage by turning the O/D off.

Turning it ON helps with gas mileage, particularly at highway speeds…
