I have a 2001 lincoln ls i want to take the v8 out and put v6 in it u know to save gas?

Both of the motors are different a lil but my car is a v8. How would this effect my. V6 motor

this will take far too much money, time, labor, and parts to properly accomplish. I would sell your car, and buy a more efficient one. I would recommend any late 90s early 00s GM car with the 3.8L v-6 as they are very reliable, and get 30 mpg highway if driven nicely.

You’d likely never save enough money on gas to pay for the cost of the engine replacement and all the other attendant tasks.

That’s not going to solve a thing b/c the V6 might get better gas mileage, but it has to work harder to move the 3,600lb. The V6 gets 16 city and 23 highway and combined 19 while the V8 gets 15 city, 23 highway and 18 combined, so it’s not worth it at all (by the way those are the 2001 base models, not SPORT.

If you want to save gas just get a K&N cone filter and an adapter. You can get them both at your local auto parts store. It gives me 29mpg @ 55mph and 27mpg @ 70mph and 25mpg @ 80mph (I spend a lot of time driving. lol)
