Tires properly inflated. Get a total tune up, and oil change. Once in a while use a fuel cleaner additive.
I’m sure there are several methods to help, but your auto is probably one of the best around on mpg. Tire inflation, slowly gain speed from a stop, and always stay easy on the pedal. Also, occassionally add a cleaner into your fuel.
98 Corolla ? nice…gas saver ! ….change your air filter…and make sure oil change every 3k
syntheic fluids will boost your milage and improve the horsepower. also with synthetic fluids you can extend the time from fluid change to fluid change.
lose some weight. seriously. go with lighter wheels. take out anything not necessary (spare tire is usually removed to save weight, you have AAA or some sort of road side assistance, right?). invest in a carbon fiber trunk and hood. those are all of the MODIFICATIONS that i can think of that will improve MPG.
there are a few maintenance items that you can do regularly to ensure you are getting the most MPG you can…
1. proper tire inflation
2. clean replace air filter
3. fluid changes (oil, tranny, rad, etc.)
