Comments on how to improve fuel economy (chevy s10)?
the only real gas saver is your foot, if you floor it all the time, wont matter
air filter
fuel filter
and nitrogen, true
but i wouldnt do it
less traction..
Make sure you keep up with your regular maintenance and tune ups. Change your engine air filter about every 15 thousand miles for best results. Keep you oil fresh. Change every 3 thousand miles or every 3 months which ever on comes first. I install nitrogen daily at Lexus and it really helps maintain the optimum air pressure which helps with your gas mileage by reducing tire rolling resistance. Maintaining a constant pressure also keeps those Tire pressure monitor lights off! Nitrogen is also inert. This helps by reducing tire and wheel corrosion. Nitrogen molecules are also larger and won’t seep out like regular air does. There has to be at least 96% nitrogen in a tire to be effective. Our atmosphere has about 70% nitrogen. Hope this helps
nitrogen tires will do nothing really.. look into a chip or an intake.. i used to have one that got about 28mpgs on the freeway.. look into headers as as well they not only make your car sound like a beast, they will also give you the benefit of better economy if installed with a full cat back exhaust
1. Increase tire pressure over door sticker recommendation, but don’t exceed sidewall maximum pressure.
2. Switch to full synthetic lubricants in the engine, transmission, and rear end. Especially the rear end.
3. Keep up with regular maintenance. Things like air filters and suspension alignment make a difference.

No just normal maintenance will do it. nitroqen will give no traction so use air. A 2.2 is maxed for fule economy so just take care of it.
Remember when driving, take off at 3/4 throttle and settle to speed. Driving to slow will lose gas mileage and not taking off quick will also as long as you settle into speed by laying off throttle and tapping pedal when slows down. this was in Motor trend and consumer reports in article why people get different mileage.
