Well you do not say what type of car you have….look at google map see how many miles you have to go…know how much gas your car uses for those miles….do the Math..

fill your car up. write the miles at the 2nd fuel up on E and go to this site
http://www.milesgallon.com/
will tell you how mpg your car gets.
Best bet get a hybrid lol

You can calculate how much you’ll need by doing this:

Figure out your miles per gallon that your car gets by making a note of the odometer when you fill the tank, and also how many gallons you put in. Then when the tank is almost empty, fill it again and make a note of this odometer reading and how many gallons you put in. Subtract the 1st reading from the 2nd and that is how many miles you drove.

Take the number of miles you drove, and divide it by the number of gallons you put in (the 2nd time). The result is your miles per gallon (MPG).

Next, find out how many miles between Brownsville & Vegas (yahoo maps or google maps will do it for you).

Take the distance between Brownsville and Vegas and divide it by the # of miles you drove to figure out how many fillups it will take to get there. So if the distance is 1000 miles, and your car can go 250 miles between fillups, you will have to fill the tank 4 times. If gas is $3/gallon and it takes 10 gallons to fill the tank, that’s $30 per fillup…..times 4 is $120 you would need. (give or take)

Sorry the answer is so long….
