How much gas mileage does an average motorcycle get?
Looking into getting one to save on gas and wondering if it’s worth it. I wouldn’t be purchasing a powerful one or anything like that , thanx for any info you have for me….

32 – 35mpg for an average bike. Some commuter bikes get a lot better than that, however 60 to 70 mpg.
My HD get anywhere between 46-50 mph.
It’s hard to come up with an average, because bikes get such different mileage depending on engine size & how you ride. A scooter will probably get 80 or 90 mpg, while a high end sport bike may only get 30mpg (or less). You might find th ebest balance at around 250 to 400cc. If you are doing highway riding, stay closer to 400-500cc. Good Luck.
MY Harley gets around 37 city and 46 highway.
My Shadow 700 gets about 47 city and 53 highway.
My friends rebel 250 gets 50 city and 54 highway.
Basic The bigger the jugs, the lower the mileage. this is not a stand pat rule as there are other factors that come into play but such as how you ride. I know bigger bikes that get better mileage than my Harley because they are factory stock. A smaller bike pushed hard will get less mileage than a bigger bike. So for good mileage go with a med. sized bike and expect about 45 and you won’t be disappointed. (A 500cc to 750cc )
