how many of you would trade your gasoline car for a chevy volt?

chevy volt electric car can use gasoline not to directly power the car but to produce generate electricity for the car like a power plant

takes 10 hours to charge or 4 with special charge system

takes 9scnds at full speed to go 0-60

and goes about 40 miles on single charge but keep in mind that “power plant” feature

and yup that’s about it (not to mention it saves the environment) but besides that tell me how it compares to your gasoline car and tell me if its worth the trade

Nope, the reason is that I am a GM person but you need to see the complete building of the Volt and then decide if something were to happen to the battery pack, the car would have to be literally taken apart in two pieces and since Toyota still don’t have techs that can truly troubleshoot the Prius, I don’t thing that GM will either plus putting the car back together would be a nightmare for the owner coming back over and over again.

Redesign the battery pack making it easier to get to and then I would consider it.

You bet i would trade! But of course, my present car is six years old and i would gladly trade it for a new anything (anything except a Hummer). But if you are a billionaire giving away cars, i would love for my next new car to be a Chevy Volt or a Nissan Leaf (another new electric car).

The 40-mile electric range is more than adequate for the majority of my car trips. And as long as i don’t use the gasoline generator, my energy cost is likely to be around $0.02 – $0.05 per mile. For a typical gasoline “economy” car the energy cost will be around $0.10 – $0.15 per mile.
