every time i turn on my truck it looks like i waste at least a gallon and sometimes i go to hurst at least 2 times a week. i just now cleaned the fuel system so everything is good. i can’t afford another vehicle. i still go to school and work everyday.
you wont get as much for it as you would have 4 or so years ago when there wasnt a gas crisis, but get rid of your gas guzzlers while you can and get a honda or something similar that’s fuel efficient
if you have to have your trucks tho, the best way to save gas is to let of the gas when coming up to a stoplight, let it coast, then use your brakes, don’t go straight from gas to brake. This regularly gives me 5-6 extra mpg in my civic, and im sure it would be even better in a large, v-8 truck
Car pool, park it and the last, baby it. Drive like a senior citizen. There is no other way around. Trucks are heavier, has a lot of Aero and Mechanical drag that hinders the fuel efficiency. These vehicles where designed to work no, to sip fuel. Therefore as a daily-commuter-grocery-getter is a very poor choice.
change your thermostat, make sure that u have the proper inflation on your tires, drive slow make sure you have a proper tune-up ….you don’t exactly have a gas miser there to start with…but u can still squeeze out some more mpg per tank full
learn conservative driving ! this is more than just driving the speed limit. on the freeway a pick up will get more mpg’s when the tail gate is lowered. inflate your tires to the presure (max) on the sidewall of the tires, keeping the engine as close to 2000 rpm as possible when you are crusing down the road. let them pass you who cares when you need to save gas 55 is a good number! there are engine mods etc to help but money is better saved at this time. try it for a few weeks. pay attention to pushing the gas pedal gentler when leaving intersection and 55 on the long streatches. It will pay off!

Fresh Spark Plugs and Air filter usually are big energy savers… and cheap and easy to replace usually… sometimes they are overlooked by mechanics
try new plugs
