You can save gas on a vehicle that has been sitting for 4 years, by letting it sit a little longer.

Before going out and spending all this money you day that the truck had been sitting for 4 yrs? During this time did you ever go out there and start it and let it run for a few during this time? If not then chances are 99% of engines that sit up for that length of time lockup. See when a engine is not running there is always at least 1 intake and 1 exhaust valve open. Hence thats how moisture gets in and starts the rusting process that causes engines to lock up. If that emgine sat for that long without being run then chances are its going to be locked up. But then again you might be one of the rare lucky ones and its not locked up.
Have the fuel system professionally cleaned/flushed. If you don’t want to spend that much, buy the stuff at Wal Mart or an auto store that says it cleans your fuel system. Aside from that, you’re right…new plugs, maybe plug wires, air filter, oil change.
