How can I conserve string on a fixed-string weed trimmer?

2

I just bought a Poulan fixed-string weed trimmer (gas powered). During the course of trimming my normal-sized yard along both sides of a fence, and edging my driveway and sidewalk, I went through 4-5 pieces of line. Being a fixed-string, I have to pop the head off and re-thread each time. Does this sound normal as far as consumption goes, or do I need to work on my technique?

It’s almost impossible to conserve. Once you hit a rock or metal fencing the line will lose some. Try staying a bit farther away with it til its small and then hit the rougher spots in your yard. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

use the biggest line allowed for your poulan technique can help only if not experienced.

also what are your conditions fence lines weld mesh enclosures etc.

as for technique to hard to give tips only show how. but one tip is try to only get the tip of the line to be the part hitting the trimming point when learning and trimming curb and path lines that was my main cause of line breakage.

but if its not that sorry to mention it if it was not then could be line quality everyone says they have the best but never is. good luck with your trimming
