Why bother?
Nobody obeys the speed limit here anyway.

M.D. Hotaling @ 1:29 am #

the faster you go, the less fuel is used; by the way.

If you want to go 60, you’re free to do so (in the right lane please, or better yet on the back roads). Don’t force it on everyone else though. A better way to lower the amount of gas our country uses would be to raise the gas tax, then put the money towards public transportation and/or reducing the other taxes we have to pay (so although your gas bill would be higher, you wouldn’t owe as much on April 15, so it would even out in the long run as long as you aren’t using up a ton of gas).

‘Cause it didn’t work the last time, but you are more than welcome to go 60 if you want (I go slower in my Rabbit Diesels, and faster in wife’s 1.8T Passat since I get my best
mileage at like 65.)

southarkansas @ 2:44 am #

cause we are a nation that’s on the fast track-back when i was younger they did that national speed limit 55-took 10 years to get them raise limit-interstates are built to travel 75 no problem

John Paul @ 3:39 am #

Bad Bad Bad Idea I lived thru the 55 mile an hour speed limit of the 70′s. Government should get out of the speed limit game and work to end the wars. Or prove to the American People Congress and the Senate can actually do something like immigration reform

DEBORAH S @ 4:03 am #

lets face it does anyone actually go by the speed limit nowadays.

wayne @ 4:39 am #

Fuel is being saved now , because as it goes up in price, people are not driving as far, and it will get worse, in US its only approx $3.80 to $4.00 a gal, some countrys like example in Australia New Zealand its $6.00 to $7.00 a gal, so if you want to save a bit more drive a little slower.

lady j @ 5:13 am #

i think it’s a good idea but u know there are some of us that have to have the speed

Joesph C @ 5:19 am #

Actually, most will not see a substantial increase of MPG until their speed is around 45mph. dropping interstate speeds from 65 or 70 to 60 makes no difference at all.
