Has anyone heard of a new oil additive that increases fuel economy by 30%?

I saw the info commercial on the 14th, but cannot remember the name. I would like to do some research and see if it is as good as it says. We have got to do anything we can these days to save money at the pumps.

And the tooth fairy is real. Sorry, but don’t you think it would be available everywhere if it could actually improve gas mileage 30%.

It’s BS nothing you put in your oil is going to make you burn substantially less gas.

Save your money on the infomercial additives. The best thing you can do to get the max MPG (miles per gallon) out of your car is to keep the tires properly inflated, keep your fuel system clean (change the fuel filter, and don’t always run the cheapest gas you can find), and change your oil and filters every 3,000-5,000 depending on what type of driving you do. The biggest thing most people forget is to routinely check the tire pressure and to replace the air filter periodically. A 5 psi drop in tire pressure can drop your MPG by as much as 20%. I change my air filter every other oil change. This keeps a lot of dirt out of your engine, and helps the fuel mileage by allowing the proper amount of air into the engine.

Doing the required periodic maintenance on your vehicle will save you most expensive repairs down the road.

Proper maintenance is all you need to get the best mileage for your vehicle. Routine oil/filter change, air filter, check tire pressure, ect.
