Gas station man put gasoline into my diesel can? will this harm my oil burner?
I made him dump it out, he yelled at me and said I did not tell him diesel. (yeah right.) The can is a Kero can (BLUE) to boot.I have written across the can in silver letters, “Diesel Fuel”. Anyway, I said I never mix the two, he said “it’s no problem, so what did I want him to do?” I said “rinse the can out with diesel and then fill it properly.” He refused. My grandma always said “the louder they yell, the wronger they are” and this guy was a hollerin..(I think he was trying to save face, as I’m a lady)
I left him there, went to a pump your own station , double rinsed out the can with a 1/2 gallon of diesel, and then put in the 5 gallons of diesel.Did I do the right thing?Comments please.

haha I found this funny. I would have probably done that too. Maybe talked to his manager.
Yes. You were lucky to be able to get to another station. Although a Diesel engine will run on gasoline, the gasoline acts as a solvent, dissolving various flavors of crud that accumulate in the fuel system, and this can clog injectors and the fuel pump. This can necessitate a complete teardown of the fuel system. After having been bit by this, I started carrying an extra gallon of Diesel fuel in a can in the trunk.
you carried your racket way to far. all that was needed, was to empty all the contense out, then fill it with the wanted fuel. You would have been ok.
That guy who filled your gas tank with the wrong stuff is just plain “stoopid.” (That’s not how I normally spell “stupid;” I just spelled it that way because I felt like it. lol)
good thing you corrected the problem . gasoline in a diesel engine will run away[to many r.p.m.s] and literally fly apart or explode. i would fill the can myself in the future.
You just have to pour out all the gas but he made a mistake and you could damage something because of it. don’t mix gas and diesel
