Gas Prices, how are you conserving on transportation?
With the price of gas at an all time high, how many people have started cycling, walking or car pooling to work? Are employers accommodating you? Can you shower/freshen up at work?
In 1979 gas crisis people started doing that to prevent a war, too bad the it seems that conservation is a taboo word.

I have to do quite a lot of motorway driving. I used to drive at 70 mph and got 42 mpg. Now I drive at 55/60 mph and get 61 mpg. If you’ve got to use the car, go easy on the accelerator pedal.
Why should employers provide showers for employees? They should shower before going to work and if they chose to ride a bicycle then they should provide an alternative shower for themselves not the employer! If they smell bad at work I would tell them to take a bath before coming into work or face termination of employment!
I’m not. Have always been driving a 35 MPG car and still driving it.
I buy it by the cup now.
I don’t do anything. I think gas prices are in line with all other prices. Just higher in general. Milk is up, electricity is up, beer is up, cars and trucks are up, and wages are up. And most certainly taxes are at an all time high, but no one whines and complains about that.
Maybe this will be of help to you- what I do is walk to the corner stores and postoffice. Along with encouraging my family to do the same or you can take the bus or train. One more suggestion is to car pool.However there are other alternatives than building a car I happen to have done some research on the topic and found where this guy Oliver South convereted his BMW to water gas fuel. He has a video that shows step by step how anyone can do this. There is also a review website that I found in my research that covered a few other companies that are doing the same thing.
