First car?

13

so im starting to look for my first car and need some help! i basically know what i want… but need some recommendations.

what i want in my car:
-suv
-good mileage
-sporty looking (like xterra…)

not too specific. i was previously set on the xterra but found out it doesnt have great mileage for an suv. i dont want a small car or sedan so dont bother suggesting that. what are some good, fuel saving suvs (if that combination even exists) ha.
money is not an issue btw..
sorry, thats confusing i guess. money isnt an issue for purchasing the car, because my parents are paying, but i have to pay for gas, which is why i would like it to be as fuel efficient as possible

If money is not an issue just get any car you like. (you got money for Gas don’t you?) =]

i agree honda cr-v or maybe a ford escape?? idk about that mileage on that but my sister’s boyfriend used to have one and it was alright. my first car is a chrysler crossfire, and although i love my car, some people freak out when i tell them it’s mine because i’m so young.

i think that you would like a new vw bug i no there small but they get about 50 m/to a gallon

Congrats on finally getting (soon anyway) that 1st car!!! Based on your specs here are my recommendations:

Toyota RAV4
Honda CRV
Mazda CX7

In that order if you want good gas mileage.
Those should be in the under 20-30k range.
Stick with 2 wheel drive cars to get the best mileage.

IF money isn’t an issue…go Lexus RX Hybrid
Toyota Highland Hybrid, they will save you a lot of gas compared to the other SUVs in the market. Still pricey tho ($30,000+)

Avoid Fords…they are cheaply built. Trust me…I’ve driven my fair share…never wanted to own them, never will.

PS Odyssey is not a SUV, its a Mini Van.

I’d love to help you, but I’m not a car expert. I’m sure you’ll get some good responses from other people. Good luck.

since money is not an issue, i strongly recommend

BMW X3
Acura RDX
Mazda CX9
NIssan Murano
Toyota Highlander

sorry domestic makes crappy small SUV

Toyota Highlander in either hybrid or gas gets good MPG and is number 1 in its class. It is a SUV with a car frame and ride. Hybrid gets 38 on highway and 32 in city and gas gets 24 in city and 28 on highway. Newly remodeled it is sportier then past and options like spoiler and running boards along with billet grill and enkei 18″ wheels will make very sporty.

Good mileage and money really no problem.
Check the Toyota Highlander hybrid and the Lexus RXh

You can look good and help the environment to boot.

I’m going to have to go with the Hyundai Santa Fe. It is a great car, but you get a whole lot more goodies for your money. When you wreck it, it’ll be nice to have all those air bags too.
