I assume you are talking about the performance air intake kits?
Of course it increases gas mileage because it increases the efficiency of the engine.
All you have to do to receive the rewards is keep your foot from going to the floor every time you leave a stoplight.
It may help a little. But don’t expect miracles from an air filter change unless your old filter is really dirty.
An air filter, unless it is very dirty has much less effect on a fuel injected engine as it used to on the older carburetor engines.
Electronic fuel injection has sensors in the air intake and exhaust to help calculate the best fuel / air mixture. It can will compensate for a dirty air filter.
The older carburetor engines did not have this capability and only relied on manifold vacuum and mechanical settings in the carburetor to set the fuel / air mixture. It had no way to compensate for environmental changes like a dirty air filter.
I have it in my accord and I really didnt notice anything yet. Well Im going on a road trip nxt month so ill really know them. If anything it save you from buying a paper filter every year since these are good for 5 years.
