Does it save gas to put your vehicle in park when in a line waiting?
For instance, in a traffic jam or in a drive thru lane…Can you explain why either way?

no, regardless of what drive your car is in the engine is still running so it makes no differnece on the amount of gas used
If you’re going to be stopped for more then 2 min, turn off the engine.
actually,yes! when you are stopped you are pressing the brake but if you let go your car woud move; you are putting presure on the car. when in park your car rests and doesn’t try to move.
actaully in my truck when its in park the rpm’s(revolutions per minute) are higher than when in drive so if i put it in park i’d waste more gas. as far as the guy that said yes he doesn’t know what he’s talking about brakes on or not the engine speed is what calculates gas used therefore the pressure on the driveshaft from the brakes pressed doesn’t change engine speed. i’d say shut the motor off thats the only way your gonna save gas.
