Yes, coasting will lower fuel consumption.

Edit: And never coast in neutral as someone mentioned. That is dangerous!

yep but not accelerating but letting the car speed up down the hill will save fuel when you get to the bottom and the car has momentum to keep going.

it saves alot of fuel, also try putting the car into nutral going downhill, saves alot of gas

Yes you will not use much gas going down hill, but do NOT put it in neutral, that is a very dumb thing to do.
