As everyone else stated – the magnets and electronic gizmos are a scam.

There are performance chips available for some models, but usually these will increase power, but decrease fuel economy. I have heard of a few diesel trucks that get better fuel economy with performance chips, but this is the exception, rather than the rule.

Modern engines are usually as frugal as possible right out of the factory, so there’s not much you can do to increase fuel economy other than the basics:

1. Remove unnecessary stuff from the vehicle – extra weight equals increased gas useage.

2. Proper tire inflation.

3. Drive the speed limit. Conserve by coasting to a stop at lights, then accellerating slowly. Jackrabbit starts and stops take lots of fuel. Yea, it’s more fun to drive aggressively, but grandma can get 20% better fuel economy than the rest of us.

4. If the vehicle is older, install new spark plugs and flush the radiator.

all those other ones are a scam, BUT you mentioned a performance chip, those do work, most have diffrent settings for example: fuel efficiency, speed, and towing. are the 3 most common that i know of (at least on trucks). but don’t think of it as just improving ur engines mileage amazingly….its the same engine, pretty much it burns what it burns. think of it as re programing the engine to just run smoother, with minimal amount of fuel.

i guess what im trying to say is that it may improve ur mileage slightly….for alot of money….personally buying it for that’s reason it wouldn’t be worth the price.

Consumer test organizations have said nearly all add-ons don’t work. A high quality air filter and spark plugs will give some improvement, but proper air in tires and sensible driving will give the best improvement.
