Do The Gas Prices Bother You A Lot?
Did you know that you can reduce the amount of money you spend on gasoline overall, by changing your driving style and habits? No I’m not a salesman.
Personally, I used to be a rather fuel-inefficient driver… but my brother showed me something interesting on wikipedia. And you don’t have to buy a Prius… any car.
Here’s the basics about saving gas – accelerate smoothly(not jackrabbit starts), avoid idling the engine(so waiting in a long line at the McDonalds drive-thru when you can walk in and get it quicker doesn’t make too much ¢), on the highway don’t go too fast(after 60 mph increasing speed cuts FE), and keeping car maintained(like changing air filter, oil changes, & tire pressure should at least be at recommended PSI, and can be upped safely by 5 – 15 psi depending on if you drive on highway a lot or not).
I wish I would’ve known it b4-here’s the wikipedia link for the more advanced stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypermiling
what do you think about it

Good information! I can definately use it. I drive a Jeep, which doesnt get the best milage, and my husband drives a Dodge Ram diesel, which doesnt do too good either. Just filling up his truck is over $100, so every little bit helps!
No, the gas prices do not bother me a lot. I only drive my car once a week or less. I purchase gasoline 5 or 6 times a year. So, it really does not bother me a lot.
A few years ago, the price of gas bothered me. Now, it’s kind of just become a fact of life.
yes my truck is a V8,
i drive a suv and it doesn’t get good milage, luckily i only
have a short drive to work, so i don’t have to fill up as often,
but those prices are ridiculas.
well it doesnt really bother me much cause i dont really drive much
but it is ridiculous! I mean it is just stupid…if u have a car that wastes a lot of gas, u end up loosing than gaining benefit. i wonder what will really happen in the next 5 years or so….well maybe we’ll be able to fly by then
