CNG users? Please share your experiences with your CNG vehicle.?
Do you have a refueling station at home? What was the purchase price of this? Is it loud or is the noise managable? Is this a fleet vehicle? If it’s a personal vehicle what was the conversion or additional purchase price of this vehicle comparied to a gasoline version? Are you happy you have a CNG vehicle? Is it diffilcult to find service stations? How is maintenance and can you find anyone to work on your vehicle? I live in the Chicago area so additional midwest comments about dealerships, mechanics, etc. would be appreciated. Do you think you save money useing this vehicle over a standard gas vehicle? All advice is appreciated.

Reading between the lines – you should look into getting a USED Bi-Fuel vehicle (CNG/GAS). Try it to see what YOU think. Ford, Chevy & Dodge built these fleet vehicles from about 1996-2004. Check the Internet for used ones. Check your dealers to see if any have a CNG tech on staff – there is one in my area for Ford. Best to know before buying in case you need service. (If you get a GX, Honda has techs only at GX authorized dealerships).
I have a used FMQ-2, cost me $3500 and runs fine. What noise? Very well insulated and no more rumble than a window air conditioner. Later decide if you want to step up to a home fueler, and again research it out. Go for a used one.
I am quite pleased overall and have recently ordered an ’08 Civic GX, so there will no longer be gasoline backup for me! I am in the Northwest, but Chicago area likely has similar opportunities.
For me – I am saving not only money but time by fueling at home, and fewer oil changes.
