Usually in the beginning of the week because everyone goes out on the weekends so they raise it. The best time to get gas is between 9:00PM – 6:30AM. When it is cool out. THe hotter it is the less real gas you get. It evaporates faster as well.
Also, if you go to some grocery stores and walmart and put money on a Gift Card, you can use it and get 5 cents off each gallon. Nowadays every little penny counts.

That is such BS. Liquid do NOT expand like gas. The amount that it expand in the daytime temp rise is not even 1% OF 1%.

Just look for sales in the middle of the week. Some gas stations will advertise sale during their slow part of the week. Combine that with gas station credit card that give back as much as 10% and you are saving more than 40 cent per gallon (10% on $4). WOW.
Good luck…
Tuesday is the cheapest day to buy gas in the US. Reason: Gas stations raise prices as the week progresses but drop them a bit at the start of the week. A simple case of supply & demand, it seems.
However, locally, the day might change wildly. For example, in a city like Fayetteville, AK the cheapest day to buy gas is (believe it or not) the weekend – Saturday and Sunday.
In contrast, the best time to buy gas is early morning. That’s because gasoline is denser and of higher quality at the coolest time of the day (which is early morning) than when it’s warm outside (like mid-morning, afternoon or evening). This simple fact can save you dollars on fuel and increase gas mileage.
