Can you help me with my gas saving question?
Does having your car windows open when driving waste more gas then have your A/C on?

no. up to 75 mph, it doesn’t… but at any level over 50 mph, the difference is negligible.
the difference is so fractional. because the ac is hooked up to a pulley that is connected to your Serpentine belt witch causes drag, either on or off it’s still consuming a form of energy.
If u want to save fuel, don’t go over 55, cars burn more fuel when speeding, if u have speakers in your trunk take them out. it’s unnessary weight, car works harder for the extra pounds. change your oil on time, have your fuel system cleaned once a year, there are countless ways to save fuel. personally i don’t drive unless i have to if i want to go out i call up a friend and say lets go to the movies. and make them pick me up.
Yea this was on Mythbusters a while ago…
Driving on the highway: More efficient to use the AC than windows down
Driving in the city: Windows down is more gas efficient
Tests have been done on this issue and the conclusion is that modern cars are designed to run most economical with the windows closed and temp control on. Wind turbulence will reduce fuel economy more than running your air conditioning.
i use the AC i paid 1200 dollars for it and im NOT gona sweat my @ss off to save pennys.
By opening your window, it has been proven that you are reducing gas mileage because the air is mixing with the gas and reducing your mpg.
yes and it already has been tested it can save up to half as much as the window opened
This question has been asked about 10 million times. There are lots of opinions, one way or the other. Here is a Myth Busters episode that kind of shows that A/C off might save some gas:
