I need 6 new fuel injectors for my 1989-1990 pontiac firebird. it is a v6 coupe. The license and registration says its 1990. but the manufacturers sticker on the driver door says it was made 10/89 so which year do I put for my fuel injectors? on this site im using I put 90 and it asks if i want v6 or v8. when i put 89 it just shows me a v8 model so im pretty sure i still put 90 but it could be they just dont have the part. so im asking u car pros for help which year do i put it as for the right part. were talkin a lil under 1k in parts here so i wanna make sure i get the right ones i have been saving my money for too long i dont want to wait again
im going to be buying a book to instruct me i need to learn how to do this stuff on my own lol. anyways this is the part i plan on buying http://www.autoanything.com/fuel-systems-52-595-1990/201A2032.aspx?N=4294966594 and a dealership wud charge me an arm and a leg lol

Go to the dealer and let them provide the parts that you need–they will know. Its the same motor in cars for the past 10 years. Are you sure you know how to do this job?? If you look crooked at these injectors you can damage them!!

Under the hood, there will be an emissions sticker. It will say something like “this vehicle conforms to all federal/California emission laws for 19xx”. It might be covered under dirt and oil, but a rag usually cleans it right up. This has been the best way to order parts for any car I have ever worked on. 10/89 is usually going to be sold as an early 1990 model.

Hi
Car, bikes, snowmachines start their year 3 to 6mo before the end of the year.

The absolute best way to ensure you get the correct injectors is to copy the VIN and have it ready when ordering. The VIN will help the parts store find the specific injectors you are looking for. The VIN can be found by standing outside and looking at the bottom corner of your drivers side windshield.

Any car built after September takes on the following year. So your 10/89 is the 1990 model.
good luck……

Usually you will find that the actual year of manufacture of the car is written on the label of the driver’s seat belt (normally a label stitched to the inside of the seat belt).

LOOK IN THE GLOVE BOX OR UNDER THE HOOD, LITERALLY ON THE HOOD UNDERNEATH IT YOU CAN PROBABLY FIND THE STATISTICS IF NOT THE DOOR MOST LIKELY IS CORRECT..IF IT IS NOT FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE.

CHECK ALL FACTORY STICKERS WHATEVER IT SAYS IS THE YEAR YOU’LL KNOW.
