Buying a used car?! A Honda Civic EX 2002.?
Buying a used car? So I’m a college student and you all know how we’re all about saving the last dime.
Anyway,
So I was wondering, what is too old?
So I’m looking at this little car thinking the mileage isn’t bad at all for the year it was made, and the Honda Civic seems to have a good reputation.
So is this car too old and the mileage too much for the price?
Can it last me another 2 -3 years with out problems with proper maintanence?
Any feedback or other suggestions on other models, year make, etc., will be appreciated.

everything sounds great except the price, should be able to get the price down a bit, check out the blue book.
Honda’s are long living cars, great gas mileage.
My family owns 2 7th generation Civics. They’re great cars, with awesome gas mileage. One was from ’01, the other from ’03. Both of them EX models. You didn’t mention whether its the coupe or sedan, but its all the same to me.
It will last a long time. My only problem was the automatic transmission died on me, which won’t be a problem for you as you’re getting a stick. Also, the ABS are extremely noisy when they kick in, but you’ll get used to it.I have easily put 130k miles on the ’01 Civic. I’m expecting to drive it until 250k miles. By then hopefully I’ll have enough cash on hand to buy a new car.
GL to you!
The price seems about right- it should last you about another 6 or 7 years problems free if it was taken care of properly.
The Civic’s are high in price used because of their high resale value, so compared to other makes, the price seems high.
If you like the civic, check out the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Celica.
Good luck!
