Arizona, Illinois, Fuel Injectors?
My friend and I are driving to Arizona from Illinois but his fuel injector is bad and everytime he comes to a complete stop his car shuts off but turns on just fine. We have been saving for 6months to go out there for spring break and we are definintly going for sure, but we were wondering if we could make it from just a bad fuel injector. If need be, how much would a fuel injector cost to fix? Does having a bad injector cause problems in the long run?
Oops sorry I accidentally said we were saving for 6 months it’s more like 6 weeks. He has $220 and I have $300. We also have a gas card.

dude theres a chance it might not be the fuel injectors. Take it somewhere or two places and get quotes. Quotes dont cost anything and you also find out whats wrong. Have fun on that trip dude.

A quote for the fuel injectors wont cost anything, however to find out what is actually causing the problem will. Since it may not be the fuel injectors (I agree with the above post) they will need to spend some time with the vehicle to find out the problem…and that will cost money.
But still, I would recommend doing that. Get it out of the way before you have anymore problems that may ruin your trip. If you know it is the fuel injector than just call around for an estimate, no one else can really give you a price…especially since you didn’t specify the vehicle! So any prices from people on here would be just random guesses, or from past experience, on a different vehicle.
Then you can have a fun trip with no worries, maybe a little less money though.
a bad injector will cause that cylinder to run lean thus blowing the engine by putting a hole in the piston.
Then you will be permanent residents here in AZ
