Are people really THAT upset over the price of gas?
I thought driving slower suppose to save gas. Yet I see people driving like gas is only $1.00 Speeding and racing each other, rabbit starts when the light changes to green, driving in and out of traffic like their on their way to a fire. Even the flow of traffic on the free way people are driving just has fast as ever.

i have slowed down, but i notice the same thing
I am upset over the gas situation. If I could think of a different way to travel to work I would do it.
i am upset that gas is going up but what can i do. i don’t drive crazy cause thats a dumb thing to do… im trying to save money not spend it…
AGREE! It’s weird as hell, i hear people complaining but when i creep away from the stop light because i don’t want to burn unnecessary gas or when i drive and actually stay a little below the speed limit…people look at me like i’m some kind of dick. I drive a SUV. I just leave my house ten mintues earlier to compensate. Human beings are strange.

Way back in “The Day” the speed limit was lowered to a max 55MPH on all highways. This was done for safety reasons. Slower speeds meant fewer accidents. One of the unrealized benefits of the slower highway speeds was that there was a gas surplus, slower speeds better fuel economy. And a gas surplus kept prices lower.
I guess no one wants to drive slower to save gas. It is so much easier to tell the car manufacturers to build a more efficient car than it is to drive slower. Oh well.
