many cars are a pain in the… u know when it comes to fuel pumps. im pretty sure u hav to remove the gas tank to change the pump on ur car. if u want to know the details go to auto zone and buy a manual just 4 ur car. they tell ya how to fix about anything! haynes writes them & so does chiltons.just ask someone @ autozone or ur local parts store to point ya n the right direction of these helpful manuals. good luck!
if u don’t know what u are doing yes it will be a big deal.. u need at least 2 people if thats if your tank is full. drain the tank. the fuel pump isn’t cheap.. your looking around 200-400 bucks if that.
Get the Haynes/Chilton manual. Replacing the fuel pump might be too much to handle, but from the way you described yourself you can probably do a brake job yourseld with the help of a manual.
I agree with the manual. Don’t give up hope yet, many cars have an “access panel” in the body under the back seat to access the fuel pump.
The fuel pump is under the back seat of most cars, and some thoughtful designers put a plate held in place by screws there so you don’t have to drop the tank.
So check a repair manual and if that’s the way you get to the tank, I’d say go for it girl.
If you have to drop the tank to pull the fuel pump, I’d let a shop do this if you can afford to. They have the tools, and the lift that makes this easier.
