2007 Buick Rendezvous air conditioning?
Thanks to all who answered a previous question re faulty fuel gauge. Had it back to dealer for 2nd time and still not fixed. Now the “Low Fuel” light comes on and stays on. In addition, now that the “Low Fuel” light is on I believe some sensor is thinking since I am running out of gas it is turning the air conditioning off. I know I have at least l/2 tank of gas. Does it make sense that the AC would stop working to conserve fuel if it is sensing that I am in a low fuel situation? That’s what it sounds like in my manual. The AC worked just fine when the needle was at l/2 tank which was about 8 miles before the Low Fuel light came on and the needle went to Empty. So far they have reprogrammed the Power Control Module and today they replaced the Fuel Tank Unit –Sensor, Fuel Level. Does anyone have any ideas of what else it could be? The dealer is supposed to call GM on Wednesday, but I’d like to have some idea of what could be wrong.
Just to update all of you who have been good enough to reply. This morning I got in the car and the “Check Engine Soon” light was staring me in the face. About 5 minutes later the air conditioner literally blew up with steam pouring from under the hood. Scared me to death. OnStar was wonderful. They did diagnostic checks and advised me it was safe to drive the car to the dealer. The OnStar tech person stayed with me all the way to the dealer and then told one of the mechanics what they had determined. I’m trying to be positive by thinking these are problems that shouldn’t leave me stranded on the side of the road, but it’s becoming very frustrating. I’ve told the N. J. dealer about all the things that have gone wrong, but, of course, they couldn’t care less. I’m in Pa. and they know it’s not their problem. You can bet I’ll NEVER buy a car out of this area again. I just hope I can put up with this one for the 5 yr. warranty period.

I KNOW THAT ARE TO CONTACT GM BUT HAVE THEY CHECKED ALL TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THIS VEHICLE, I ASSUME THAT THEY HAVE CHECKED ALL RECALLS BUT HAVE THEM LOOK CLOSELY FOR ANY (TSB)
Wow all the problems you’ve had with that car I would consider telling the dealer to get you a new one. There is such of law called the Lemon-Law. I’m not trying to be funny, but that’s what I would do.
Have they tried unpluging the battery for more that 5 mins to see if that will work?
What is happening with the a/c is just what you’re saying. Sounds like a wiring problem with the sending unit to PCM wiring.
Possible the gauge assembly, as it is motor driven by the BCM. Good luck with this one, odd problems.
