1989 Ford F150 Fuel Pump Problem?
All of a sudden I’m not getting fuel to the motor (6cyl). I’m thinking new pump or filter, but then I heard about a fuel cut off or inertia switch. That sounds like it could be my problem, but I can’t find it to save my life (or my truck). I’ve read it’s on the passenger side firewall in the cab, but I don’t know what I’m looking for, and I can’t see any spring loaded buttons to reset. Help!
Okay, I found the Fuel Inertia Shut-off switch – it was mounted on the driver’s side firewall – but it turned out that it wasn’t the problem. If I let the truck sit for a day, then the next day it will start, but only run for about 2 seconds, then die. I definitely don’t have any fuel going to the motor because I checked the release valve and nothing comes out.
I’ll check the relay and report back. Any other ideas or is this just a pump problem.
